EDRE101 Introduction to World Religions

This unit will introduce student-teachers to the major world religions and existing philosophies as well as their historical, geographical and spiritual backgrounds.  In today’s world the increasing movement of people, due to phenomena such as migration, is a great challenge that requires an attitude of openness to different cultures, religions and traditions. As well as learning about the existence and differences between the major world religions and philosophies, student-teachers will be guided to see the importance of respect towards other peoples’ beliefs and religious traditions.
