Effective management and strong leadership is the key to a successful school, where children thrive and are able to achieve their full potential. This unit builds on the learning in EDSL401 Introduction to School Leadership and Management 1, but will focus more on the issue of educational leadership in schools. Community approaches to leadership and management will be examined. Student-teachers will be given the opportunity to shadow an experienced school leader to enable them to relate the theory covered during the unit to actual practice. Wherever possible, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will be used to support the teaching and learning in this unit.
