Effective management and strong leadership are the key to a successful school, where the students

thrive and are able to achieve their full potential. This unit will introduce student-teachers to the

principles of school management and how this relates to the broader issues of school leadership.

Community approaches to School Leadership and Management will be examined. This will prepare

the student-teachers to take on roles in the school, beyond that of a classroom teacher. Wherever

possible, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will be used to support the teaching and

learning in this unit.
