This unit will enable student-teachers to understand the principles of ‘Child Development and Inclusive Education’ and to be able to apply this at Elementary, Junior Primary and Senior Primary levels. As well as learning the relevant subject knowledge, student-teachers will learn how to assess individual children’s learning development and abilities in a class and be able to support their learning needs in an interactive and stimulating environment at each level. Student-teachers will learn that, wherever possible, specialist professional attention should be given to children with special needs. Where appropriate, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will be used to support the teaching and learning in this unit.
